File Your Taxes Fast with Smartphone Apps

Did you know smartphone apps can make it easier to file your taxes? More and more people are choosing to bypass the computer and handle their personal finances from their mobile devices. According to a Cricket Wireless national survey, 45 percent of adults now say they would be comfortable filing taxes via smartphone.

Apps like Intuit’s TurboTax SnapTax mobile app and the H&R Block 1040EZ Tax App let consumers easily snap a photo of their W-2, answer a few simple questions and file from their phone. According to the survey, this is part of a larger trend. Americans are also comfortable using a mobile wallet (51 percent) or giving bank account information via smartphone (52 percent).

While millennials and GenXers are the most comfortable handling their finances on smartphones, older generations are also adopting this attitude. Cricket’s survey found that 56 percent of 18-29 year-olds would file their tax returns on their phone, while 34 percent of 45-64 year-olds would.

Also in the survey, half of people said they file early, while only 5 percent admitted filing last-minute! No matter where you fall, courtesy of Cricket, anyone can now get more cash back when buying a new phone. We kicked off tax season by launching “The Nation’s Best Trade-In” program, which offers customers more for their current phone than any other carrier by tripling the trade-in value of their current phone toward the purchase of a new device and/or accessories. Click here for more info, or visit your local Cricket store today to upgrade, and you can start using a smartphone to get your daily tasks done more efficiently!
